Trashy Bags Featured on BBC World Service - 4th Jan 2008

On the 4th Jan 2008 a special feature about Trashy Bags was broadcast on the BBC World Service Outlook programme.  The presenter was Christine Otieno and it was based on various interviews that she carried out in early December 2006.

Official Launch of Trashy Bags - Press Conference - 6th Dec 2007


Trashy Bags was officially launched on the 6th December 2007 at the Accra Press Centre.  In attendance were representatives of many of the national press and other invitees.  Chris Brealey of the British High Commission kindly spoke about the many benefits of the Trashy Bags initiative and Stuart Gold, Managing Director of GC Projects, spoke about the history and future plans of the project.  Chairing the meeting was Sandra Wilson, Environmental Projects Officer of GC Projects.

British High Commission Bazaar - 17th Nov 2007

Trashy Bags sales debut was held at the annual bazaar at the British High Commissioner's residence in Accra.  A film crew from Metro TV was in attendance to interview the many visitors to the Trashy Bags stand which included the British High Commissioner to Ghana and his wife who lent their support to the Trashy Bags initiative.

United Nations World Habitat Day - 1st Oct 2007

Trashy Bag backpacks were awarded as prizes to the three winners of the national schools essay competition at the UN World Habitat Day event held in October.  This event is held annually at various locations worldwide and is organized in Ghana by the Ministry of Local Government.
